Goals

The primary goals of Compass Behavioral Health Services is (1) to provide quality, services to persons served, our clients (2) to utilize evidenced based practices and strategies approaches to fulfil the CBHS mission (3) provide an alternative to in-patient treatment setting.

Mission

The mission of Compass Behavioral Health Services is to: 1.  Guide our community to live their best lives, one day at a time. 2.  Address the psychological, emotional, physical and social needs of the clients through a multidisciplinary team approach to individuals suffering from mental illness and  3. To promote the quality, value, and optimal outcomes of services through CARF foundation process which will allow for continuous improvements of services that center on enhancing the lives of the persons served.

Vision

Through the responsiveness to a dynamic and diverse environment and population, Compass Behavioral Health Services serves as a catalyst for improving the quality of life of the persons served.


PHILOSOPHY


•  In developing the Compass Behavioral Health Services Program, the underlying philosophy is based on our belief that the client must receive the most competent, age-appropriate, caring and cost-effective treatment available.

•  The provision of such treatment requires that we recognize, acknowledge, plan and provide a program for the individual client’s needs and for their appropriate length of stay in treatment.

•  We strive to be flexible, responsible and accountable. Our primary objective must be the stabilization of the client with a decrease of the more intense and dysfunctional symptoms so that the client can return to his/her adequate level of functioning, Thereby, increasing their ability to perform activities of daily living. 

Moral Ownership

The leadership has identified that the persons served are the moral owners of the Compass Behavioral Health Services. Persons served (our clients), are the primary consumers of services. When these persons are unable to exercise self-representation at any point in the decision-making process, persons served are also referred to as those persons willing, able, and legally authorized to make decisions on behalf of the primary consumer, the client.

Purposes

In support of our mission, vision, and values, our purposes are:

  • To achieve and maintain current, field-driven standards that improve the value and responsiveness of the program and services delivered to people in need of life enhancement services. 
  • To achieve accreditation through a consultative peer-review process and demonstrate our commitment to the continuous improvement of our program and services with a focus on the needs and outcomes of the persons served.
  • To review and study accreditation research regarding outcomes measurement and management and to determine strengths as well as areas needing improvement.
  • To provide consultation, education, training and publication that supports other organizations in achieving and maintaining accreditation of their programs and services.
  • To provide information and education to persons served and other stakeholders on the value of accreditation.
  • To seek input and to be responsive to persons served and other stakeholders.
  • To provide continuous improvement and services to improve the outcomes for Compass Behavioral Health Services, persons served and their community of influence.
